Alex Romeo Massage Therapy

Welcome!

In my experience, massage therapy is not just a luxury that you treat yourself with once or twice a year. Massage therapy is health care. Like nutritious food and exercise, massage is a deeply regulating self care tool that can be utilized to restore and maintain health by addressing energetic imbalances and impasses within the body. Beyond physicality, this work is about our nervous systems entering a space where safety and attunement is present and gentle healing can be received. In my practice, I rely on both my intuition as well as focused intention and anatomical knowledge to encourage deep rest and transformative healing. I want my work to feel relaxing, with the ultimate goal of facilitating change where and when the body calls for it.

I love Alex's work! If you are looking for someone who has the strength and control to really go deep you have found the right person. Of course if you need less pressure Alex can do it, but I personally go for their ability to get in there and get out the knots.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have sliding scale prices?

Yes! Click Here for details.

What is the difference between your therapeutic Swedish massage and your deep tissue massage?

My therapeutic Swedish massage session will mostly follow a full body routine that I have developed over time. It blends Swedish massage, which is geared toward relaxing the whole body and nervous system, with some limited elements of deep tissue. A deep tissue session provides more specific work around joints, tendons, and the muscles that are literally deeper than those worked in a Swedish session. A deep tissue session with me will likely not cover your entire body, but rather will offer a deeper relief of pain and discomfort through focus work on 1-3 areas. Full body massages are only available in 75, 90 and 120 minute sessions, while deep tissue is available in all session lengths.

Do you sell gift cards?

I don’t have an actual gift card to offer, but in the past I have accepted pre-payments from those who wanted to purchase a massage for their loved ones. This can be done with cash, Zelle, and Venmo.

I also offer monthly subscriptions as well as package discounts.

Reach out through the Submission Form below if any of this interests you!

Do you do corporate/wellness events?

Yes, with some discretion. Feel free reach out through the Submission Form below with the details of your event and I will get back to you!

How often should I get a massage?

Most of my regular clients see me once per month, and this seems to be the minimum amount to create some sort of change in the body. I think it is consistent enough to keep reminding you what it really feels like to be in your body by highlighting tender and tight areas you might not have been aware of before. This can encourage more action in between sessions like stretching, foam rolling, and exercises to help you maintain embodiment. Of course, if you can afford it, I definitely would recommend one session every two weeks.

What are the accessibility details of your studio?

My studio is accessed from the ground floor. There is a parking lot with accessibe parking spaces and a wooden ramp leading to my studio door. The entryway between the front door of the building and my studio entrance is a bit tight, but with some light maneuvering, can absolutely accomodate a wheelchair. There is also a bathroom adjacent to my studio.

My space is low-scent. I sometimes use an essential oil diffuser but am more than happy to accommodate those with sensitivities. My current clients with scent sensitivities have so far not had any issues with the products I use. Click Here to see the ingredients in my massage cream.

In terms of my COVID-19 protocol, I do not require masks to be worn in session, however I do keep KN95 masks in my studio and I am more than happy to wear one for our session. I wash my hands very regularly and if I have any troubling symptoms, I will cancel and reschedule our session.
